Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026 ยท Effective: May 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, linking, or using DailyLens (the "app", "service") you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app and please disconnect it from the Ring app.

2. What DailyLens Does

DailyLens captures still snapshot images from a Ring camera you have selected, on a schedule you set, stores them in your own Cloudinary cloud storage account, displays them as a chronological timeline, and lets you generate time-lapse videos. DailyLens does not record continuous video, does not record audio, and does not access live video streams.

3. Ring Account & Ring Protect

To use DailyLens you must have an active Ring account, own or have permission to use the connected camera, and link DailyLens through the Ring app's AppStore.

DailyLens works best with a Ring Protect plan (which enables 24/7 Recording or Snapshot Capture on supported cameras). Without Ring Protect, DailyLens can only capture frames recorded during motion or doorbell events, so you may see repeat frames between events. Ring Protect is a separate Amazon/Ring subscription not included with DailyLens.

4. Eligibility & Age

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to use DailyLens. DailyLens is not directed to children and is not designed for use by children. See Section 9 of our Privacy Policy.

5. Your Data & Ownership

You own your snapshot images. We store them only to provide the service to you and never sell, rent, or share them. Snapshots are uploaded to a Cloudinary account that you control; DailyLens accesses it only with the credentials you provide. You can delete individual photos, entire timelines, or your full account at any time inside the app.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use DailyLens to:

If you use DailyLens at a workplace or commercial property, you are responsible for notifying employees and visitors and obtaining any required consents under applicable law.

7. Service Availability

We aim to keep DailyLens available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not responsible for missed snapshots caused by camera offline, internet outages, Ring API changes or outages, Cloudinary outages, hosting maintenance, or events outside our control. DailyLens is not a security or alarm system and must not be relied on as one.

8. Account Limits

To keep the service stable and equitable, DailyLens enforces per-account limits (currently: up to 6 active timelines per account, and up to 2,880 snapshots per timeline). When a timeline reaches its snapshot limit it is moved to "Archive Full" status; you can delete older photos and reactivate it at any time. These limits may change as the service evolves and will be announced in-app.

9. Termination

You may stop using DailyLens at any time by:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Ring Appstore Program Requirements, or applicable law. We will notify you by email when reasonably possible.

10. Disclaimers

DailyLens is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that captures will always succeed, that images will always be retrievable, or that the service will be error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DailyLens, its operators, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or USD $10 if no payment was made).

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any change. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced in-app.

13. Contact & Abuse Reports

For questions, support, or abuse reports:

To report abuse of DailyLens (e.g., suspected unauthorized use of the app on a camera you own), include "ABUSE REPORT" in the subject line and we will prioritize your message.
